The NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) offers various training opportunities, including online courses through TrainingSpace, and specific training for homeless service providers. These opportunities are designed to enhance the skills of staff involved in providing assistance and support to individuals and families, including those experiencing homelessness. 

FREE On-Demand Training Videos

TrainingSpace offers you a variety of interactive, web-based courses that allow you to learn at your own pace, review when you need to, and complete your training over a series of sessions.

Gender-Based Violence Training

According to New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, many professionals come in contact with victims of domestic and sexual violence. Increased knowledge of these complex issues means that more survivors can get the help they need.

OCFS Mandated Reporting Training

Employees of publicly-funded emergency shelters for families with children are mandated reporters of child abuse and maltreatment. OCFS offers the mandated reporter training for homeless shelter employees.
